Have your say on the Overpool Road Improvements
We want to make active travel a natural choice for more of our residents. We are proposing improvements for Overpool Road to enable safer, comfortable and efficient active journeys.
The route was identified through previous consultation for our Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan which sets out our walking and cycling networks to be developed.
The Council has been progressing designs and we are now asking for your comments on the proposals using the online survey:
Please take a look at the proposals on the plans below:
The deadline for survey responses is Sunday 17 August 2025.
Local residents are invited to two drop-in sessions to be held at the Thelwell Road Community Centre at 4-7pm on Thursday 31 July and Thursday 14 August, to view these plans and give feedback.
The proposed changes include:
- a two way cycle track on the west side of Overpool Road, together with using the residential streets, will make a continuous cycling route
- parking areas and new planting along the route
- new signalised crossings:-
- south of the railway bridge to provide safer access to Overpool rail station
- new signalised crossings at the junction with Princes Road
- connecting Waverton Road with Brooklyn Drive supporting a safer route to Acorns Primary and Nursery School
- north of the roundabout at Tarporley Road to help people walk to the shops
If you would like the proposals and survey in an alternative format, please email: TransportStrategy@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk quoting reference LCWIP Overpool Road.
The survey responses will help us find out if there is sufficient support for each proposal to be introduced.
