Highways improvement programme dates
This is a weather dependant process and heavy rain could stop the work. It will be re-programmed to the next available date. This information will shared via information boards on-site.
Planned work
Friday 17 March
Closure at 7pm - Wharton roundabout, Winsford (at Morrisons).
Diversion around to Road One Industrial estate.
- Phase 1- dual lane approach to roundabout from Winsford
- Phase 2 - exit lane
- Phase 3 - northside exit and entry lanes
- Phase 4 - roundabout.
Access to the housing estate traffic (cul-de-sac) from Fords of Winsford leg will be maintained, however there may be slight delays at times.
Retexturing works. Retexturing is a surface treatment which brings back the surface texture in an existing carriageway surface course so that its skid resistance is regained. It does this by grit blasting the surface which removes built-up debris and bitumen to leave a rougher edge surface to aid skid resistance.
Monday 20 March
9.30pm until 6am for one night (but expect works to only last around four hours).
Road closure on Grosvenor Road between Overleigh roundabout and Castle Drive.
Works to install a pedestrian island in the carriageway near Dingle Bank and add road markings. This scheme is an Active Travel site and is being carried out to aid pedestrians and cyclists crossing the road at this location. Once the island has been installed the temporary traffic signals will be removed.
Monday 20 March
7pm until 6am for five nights.
Road closure on Norley Road, Cuddington (between the A49 Warrington Road to White Lodge Mews), for carriageway resurfacing works.
Tuesday 21 until Friday 24 March
7pm until 6am for four nights.
Temporary traffic signals on A51 Tarvin Road at Wicker Lane junction to install a new traffic splitter island, widen the existing footway on both sides of the road, and install raised kerbs at the bus stop. This scheme is an Active Travel site and is being carried out to aid pedestrians and cyclists crossing the road at this location.
