Balancing the budget - consultation on our future budget plans 2018-21
This consultation is now closed.
Thank you to those who submitted a response to this consultation, the report is now available to view.
This report will be formally presented to Cheshire West and Chester Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 24 January 2018. This will then be followed by the Council’s Cabinet on 7 February 2018, and Council on 1 March 2018.
We are consulting on how we can make additional savings over the next two years to ensure we set a balanced budget and also prioritise the things you told us were important.
This consultation also includes early ideas for proposals that would inform budget planning beyond 2020.

In February 2016, the Council agreed a four-year budget plan that reflected the reduced amount of money received from central government and the need to fund increased demand for some of our services, like adult social care. This followed extensive consultation with residents in the Let’s Talk consultation.
The challenge of supporting our most vulnerable residents continues to grow and is placing more pressure on the budget. To make sure these services have enough money, we need to make further savings across the Council. We want to encourage the public to have their say on our proposals.
How you can get involved
Your views are really important in helping shape future local services. We will consider all the feedback we receive and the results will be published in February 2018.
