Our current Mayor of Ellesmere Port is Councillor Katie Kendrick.
About the Mayor

Katie was born at the Countess of Chester Hospital in 1979 and has lived in Whitby, Ellesmere Port all her life. Katie attended Neston Hinderton School, then onto Woodlands Junior School. She went to Ellesmere Port Catholic High School (EPCHS) where she gained her GCSE’s.
During her time at EPCHS Katie was in the Orchestra and part of the girls Basketball team. Katie also enjoyed the annual pilgrimage to Lourdes with the school.
Following high school Katie went onto further education at West Cheshire College where she studied Health & Social Care.
Katie then joined the Royal Navy where she served 4 years specialising in Communications and enjoyed travelling the world and gaining valuable life skills. However, she was keen to return to her hometown of Ellesmere Port. Upon leaving the Navy Katie re-trained to be a paediatric nurse and studied at the University of Chester. Katie has been a children’s nurse for 18 years. She loves her job as a nurse and making a difference to people’s lives.
Katie is married to Stephen and have a son called Jack who is 14yrs old. They love going on family holidays and creating lasting memories. Katie is an outgoing person who always embraces new opportunities as they arise. Katie is determined to live life to the full.

Mayor’s charities
Men In sheds (The Port Men in Sheds)
The objectives of The Port Men in Sheds, is to promote social inclusion and relieve the needs of those affected by social isolation or loneliness which includes people impacted by retirement, unemployment, bereavement, old age, being a carer, disability, or ill health (mental or physical).
Gloves Not Gangs (Blades Down CIC)
The Gloves Not Gangs campaign was set up to help prevent young people within our community, who are at risk of engaging in anti-social behaviour associated with gang culture and knife crime. The objective of this campaign is to reach a young, targeted group.
Cheshire West food banks
Our foodbank works with a range of local agencies who meet people at risk of going hungry. Citizens Advice, children’s centres and health visitors are just some of those who can refer people to our foodbank by issuing them with a foodbank referral. We know that anyone can reach crisis point and we're here to help when that happens.
