Notice is hereby given under Regulation 15(2)(b) of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 that the unaudited statement of accounts which may be subject to change for the year ended 31 March 2017 has been published on the Council's website:

Notice is given that from 12 June 2017 and 21 July 2017 between 10am and 4pm on weekdays any person may inspect the accounting records and certain related documents (accounts and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other related documents) of the Council for the year ended 31 March 2017, as required under Section 25 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (The Act), except as provided for in Sections 26 of The Act.

The accounts and other documents will be available for inspection at The Council Office: HQ, 58 Nicholas Street, Chester, CH1 2NP by prior arrangement. The accounts will also be available at website address above or alternative Council office by prior arrangement. Please telephone 01244 976936 to make an appointment.

Notice is given that from 12 June to 21 July 2017, the auditor, at the request of a local government elector for any area to which the accounts relate, or their representative, may ask the auditor questions about the accounts as set out in Section 26 of The Act. Notice is given any such elector may make objections to the auditor in respect to the accounts as set out in Section 27 of The Act. Any objection, and the grounds on which it is made, must be sent to the auditor in writing, with a copy to Diane Grisdale, Corporate Finance Manager, Cheshire West and Chester Council at HQ, 58 Nicholas Street, Chester, CH1 2NP. Any objection must state the grounds on which the objection is being made and particulars of:

  • any item of account which is alleged to be contrary to law; and
  • any matter in respect of which it is proposed that the auditor could make a public interest report under section 24 of, and paragraph 1 of Schedule 7 to, the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014.
