Securing funds for play
In many cases there will be a need to secure additional external funding to enable potential play improvement projects to happen. The strategy therefore will include a review of potential external funding opportunities.
This research is made available to all local play partners to help them apply for funds. This reinforces the importance of partnership working. For example, for a council owned site it may be possible for an associated voluntary sector organisation to apply for funds through a funding source that is not open to local authorities. Equally, the Council may be able to apply for funds that are not available to local play providers.
The Council’s Locality Teams can also be contacted to provide support to local play providers in developing and submitting funding bids.
