Family Visa scheme

If you have arrived in the borough through this scheme then please get in touch with us to find out what support is available to help you settle here.

The Council is funded by government to provide support for refugees coming to the UK under the Homes for Ukraine scheme, which enables residents to become sponsors and offer accommodation to a Ukrainian guest for a minimum of six months. Under this scheme the Council have full details of each arrival, but not for those who have arrived in the borough under the Family Visa Scheme.

Regardless of which route Ukrainians have arrived the Council’s role is to help to make sure that all arrivals are safe and supported, and have access to services like health, education, work and benefits and that Ukrainian families are supported to integrate into local communities.

Get in touch if you have arrived through the family visa scheme

A questions and answers page has been compiled based on questions we have received through the dedicated email address or through community webinars on the borough's Ukraine response.

Trauma Response Network

Trauma Response Network (TRN) is a registered charity which provides free therapy and support to people in the UK affected by a mass trauma event. Their service is delivered online.

TRN therapists are all members of a professional regulating body and the Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Association UK, which means the therapists available via TRN are regulated by a professional body, the EMDR Association of UK and Ireland. They work towards the highest standards of practice and ethical codes in trauma care as well as receiving regular supervision by approved consultants.
