Mobile Homes Act 2013

The new Mobile Homes Act 2013 came into force on 26 March 2013, the Act brings many changes but in particular local authorities have been given the power to charge a licence fee in relation to licensing 'relevant protected sites' (RPS) from 1 April 2014, the term RPS includes permanent residential park home and gypsy and traveller sites. The Act allows for recovery of costs incurred by us in operating the licensing scheme under the Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act 1960 and subsequent legislation.  The following links and documents relate to the our fees and charges and are consistent with our stated position to ensure full cost recovery and are in line with our policies.
The Act requires that in setting an annual fee we must inform the licence holder of matters to which they have regard when fixing the fee for the year in question, including in particular the extent to which they have taken account of deficits or surpluses from previous years. A fees policy must be prepared and published, we can grant exemptions and set different fees if we so choose. The officer decision notice meets the requirements of the required fees statement.
