Support is still available for residents, do not miss out

Average read time: 2 minutes

Many residents are currently facing challenges due to the rising cost of living particularly in relation to fuel, food and other household emergency costs. Cheshire West and Chester Council is asking for those people who are currently facing financial hardship to look at whether they may be eligible for funding that is available.

Don't forget to claim your energy rebate of £150.

Cheshire West and Chester Council has made energy rebate payments of over £11m to date but many residents are still eligible. The deadline of 30 September is fast approaching and if you live in a property with a Council Tax Band of A - D the Council will have written to you and told you how to provide information to enable the payment to be made.

In these difficult times the Council does not want anyone to miss out on the support available and if you haven't provided the details for your payment you need to do this as soon as possible. More information can be found on the Council's website or by calling the number below.

Do not struggle with an emergency, the Household Support Fund can help you.

The Council can also help you with rising fuel costs and other assistance including food, through its Household Support Fund. The funding can support rural residents in hardship with their domestic oil costs as well as support local people with mains gas and electricity costs.

The Council and partner organisations have flexibility within the scheme to identify households in need of support. More information and a list of partner organisations allocating funding on behalf of the Council can be found on the Council's website.

We are committed to supporting households through these difficult times. The Council has several schemes in place to help and I would urge anyone finding themselves struggling to think about what help is available. Some schemes have a date by which the funding must be used so it is extremely important for our residents to get in touch as soon as possible.

Please also remember your local councillor is happy to help if you need assistance in claiming your energy rebate.
