Giving notice of a Civil Partnership ceremony

The registration of a civil partnership takes place when both of you sign the civil partnership schedule in the presence of two witnesses and the Registrar. If you wish to, you can incorporate your registration into a ceremony.

Where to find help

If you are a resident in Cheshire West and Chester please contact Chester register office.

If you live outside of Cheshire West you should contact your local regier office. You can find your local register office on the Gov.UK website.

After you have given notice, we will provide you with a brochure called 'Congratulations on your forthcoming civil partnership'. This brochure includes an outline of a ceremony, readings and declarations. You can view the brochure below and start looking at your ceremony now.

Once you have had time to consider your ceremony, we can discuss your requirements in person or over the telephone.

Please note
We are not allowed to include any wording, readings or music which may have religious connotations in our civil ceremonies.
