Giving notice of a Civil Partnership ceremony
Changes to registration services
To keep customers and staff safe during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and to use our limited resources in the best way possible we have made changes to our registration services. Our current priority is arranging and providing death registrations, birth registrations and responding to enquiries about ceremonies that have already been booked with our registrars.
Ceremonies
We are experiencing an unprecedented number of enquiries. We completely understand, but ask that customers remain patient. Please be assured we will respond to enquiries as soon as we can, but there will inevitably be a delay.
We are now accepting new bookings for ceremonies. To book, postpone or rearrange a ceremony already booked with the registration team please email: chesterregisteroffice@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk.
General Enquiries
The registration of a civil partnership takes place when both of you sign the civil partnership schedule in the presence of two witnesses and the Registrar. If you wish to, you can incorporate your registration into a ceremony.
Where to find help
If you are a resident in Cheshire West and Chester please contact Chester register office.
General Enquiries
If you live outside of Cheshire West you should contact your local register office. You can find your local register office on the Gov.UK website.
Please note: we are not allowed to include any wording, readings or music which may have religious connotations in our civil ceremonies.
