Who is involved with fraud

Give details of who you believe is committing fraud against us. If you state contractor or other then we need you to provide us with further information for example the name and address of the contractor.

Can include the following:

attempting to use Right to Buy scheme to obtain a council home fraudulently
Sub-letting without consent

Parking

Can include the following:

abuse of disabled parking concessions, for example using a disabled badge when they do not have a disabled person with them

Insurance

Can include the following:

fraudulently claiming for a bogus injury
tenants fraudulently claiming for damage to their property

Council staff

Can include the following:

theft of council property including cash
using council property for other uses than official purposes
supplying information for personal gain
staff working together to award contracts in return for incentives.
misuse of official time/equipment (computer misuse)
deceit or misrepresentation (for example providing false documents to get a job with the council)
expenses claims for journeys not made/ false claims for excess hours/ overtime
forging signatures (for example - authorising payment)
providing forged documents to support claims or applications for employment

Councillors

Can include the following:

submitting expenses claims for journeys not made of no entitlement
overstating expenses
not declaring a relevant interest

Contracts and suppliers

Can include the following:

submitting false invoices (being paid for work not done)
paying bribes to councillors / members / staff to ensure contracts
