There are two main teams who provide early help for local children, families and local people:

  • The Early Help, Schools and Partnership team
  • The Young People’s Service

The Early Help, Schools and Partnership Team

The Early Help, Schools and Partnership Team work closely with schools and community organisations to provide early help for local children, families and young people. ·

Team Around the Family (TAF) advisers support professionals to help families with TAF assessments. Assessments are used to find out about the strengths in your family, any extra support your family may need and the best way to help you with this.

TAF is voluntary and you and your child(ren) can choose to be involved. With your agreement a professional will arrange some time to talk to you and will make a TAF plan for your family. The plan will bring together everyone who is, or should be, working with your family to provide you with the most support. Regular meetings will be arranged for everyone involved to look at how the plan is working and if changes are needed.

For more information about TAF please visit the Team Around the Family pages on this website.

Parenting practitioners support parents needing additional help. The practitioners run parenting programmes to support families.
