Budget advice
Having a budget can help you see a clear picture of where you may need extra support or how you can cut back and save money. To get you started, you can:
Work out how much money you receive each month:
You can do this by adding up all of your income including your wages and benefits.
Make a list of everything you spend:
You should include everything from your most important bills such as your rent and utilities and then what you spend on your living costs that includes things like food and toiletries.
Work out whether you have any money left over:
You can do this by taking your total income amount and taking away how much money you spend. This will give you an understanding on whether you need debt advice or whether there is extra money available.
