Winsford waterfront

A new waterways strategy is under development which focuses on enhancing the benefits of the area’s rivers and waterways, which run through Cheshire Central and the surrounding environment.

Improvements include enhancing public access to the water, providing associated sport and leisure facilities, and making environmental changes for people to spend more leisure time beside the water.

Council officers are developing the strategy with environmental consultant support and plan to consult stakeholders in 2026/27.
