Get help to take your bins out
Residents who experience difficulties in placing their bins and boxes out for collection and do not have anyone to assist them can request help.
Apply for assisted collection
Before you apply
In order to be eligible for assisted collection, all occupiers/residents of a household over the age of 16 must be unable to place bins and containers out at the kerbside.
It is possible to purchase wheels or trollies that can help moving recycling boxes.
It is also possible to apply in person at your nearest Customer Service Centre or iConnect kiosk
What happens after you apply
There is an assessment process.
After your application is submitted a 'Confirmation of Request' letter will be sent out to you. Please complete the attached form and return it to the Waste Management Team. Failure to complete the form correctly may result delays or an application being refused.
Your application will then be assessed and you will be contacted about the outcome.
When your application is approved
When applications are approved, the assistance service will commence on the normal scheduled collection day usually one week after the date of request.
For an assisted collection to take place all containers must be left visible and accessible for collection in an agreed location by 7am on collection day.
If your application is unsuccessful
If your application is unsuccessful you must place your bins and containers out for collection by 7am on your normal collection day.
