Who will own my data once I submit it?

We will own your data once it has been submitted.

Why do you need my information?

We are working closely with Sustrans and we are introducing a programme of low cost effective travel initiatives in Chester and Winsford particularly walking and cycling. By changing peoples mode of transport the benefits will include better health including lower risk of cardiovascular disease, coronary heart disease, diabetes, obesity and increase workforce productivity.

When we collect and use your information, we need this to:

  • keep you up to date with information regarding the initiative
  • send you information about the programmes
  • discuss any future actions relating to the programmes
  • communicate dates and times of meetings and events

The information that we collect about you could include your name, contact email and telephone number(s).

What allows you to use my information?

When we collect and use your personal information for active travel initiatives we do so after obtaining your consent.

If you are one of our employees and we need to send information to a council registered email address as part of your role, we collect and use your information under legitimate interests to provide you with information relevant to your function. 

Who will my information be shared with?

Your information will be shared internally within our other departments and with Sustrans to allow them to share relevant information and updates with you about the Active Travel initiative.

Do I have to provide this information and what will happen if I don’t?

If you do not provide us with your information we will not be able to contact you or provide you with updates about the initiative.

How long will you keep this data for and why?

We will keep your information for one year after the completion of the initiative.

How will my information be stored?

Your information is held securely on systems within our IT network.

What rights do I have when it comes to my data?

Under data protection legislation you have the right to request access to the information that we hold about you.

You can request a copy of your data or ask questions about how it is used on our Data Protection and Your Rights page and then submit your request by following your preferred method of contact in the 'How do I ask for my personal information' section.

In certain circumstances,if you are a member of the public, under data protection legislation, you may also have the right to:

  • withdraw consent
  • receive your information in a machine readable format
  • have to inaccurate personal data rectified, blocked, erased or destroyed
  • object to decisions being taken by automated means

In certain circumstances, if you are one of our employees, under data protection legislation, you may also have the right to prevent processing for the purpose of direct marketing.
