Climate strike

Over 4,600 climate protest events took place in 150 countries on all seven continents - making it possibly the largest climate protest in world history.

Adults joined students in Chester Town Hall Square as they called for urgent measures to tackle climate change and united with people worldwide to help sound a global alarm about the climate crisis.

The event, organised by Friends of the Earth Chester and District, welcomed many speakers including Dr Christian Dunn, who began the Chester plastic straw campaign, as well as Chester MP Chris Matheson.

If you were there and would like to take further action by feeding into the Climate Emergency Summit being hosted by the Council in November 2019, share your ideas by 18 October 2019:
