Land Access Management Agreement (LAMA) and Land Access Agreement (LAA)

The Council’s Borough Plan asks for everyone to Play their Part.

Town and parish Councils, community groups, businesses and charities across the borough feel they can Play their Part and support their communities to be better places to live by taking responsibility for some Council owned land and assets.

The following robust and easy to follow process for the development of LAMAs LAAs has been developed to enable the agreements to be processed quickly and effectively for everyone’s benefit.

Land Access Management Agreement (LAMA)

The LAMA facilitates the maintenance of Greenspaces managed land by the beneficiary. The area may be the whole of a site or part of a site (like a set of flower beds), the amount of space can be discussed and negotiated as part of the LAMA process.

Land Access Agreement (LAA)

The LAA facilitates the installation and/or transfer of ownership of Object(s) by the beneficiary (group) on Greenspace managed land. Objects being installed or transferred are typically items such as: noticeboards, benches and bins. These objects would be owned/maintained/managed/insured by the beneficiary.

Eligibility criteria

For a group, organisation or town or parish Council to:

• manage a greenspaces site (LAMA)
• adding objects onto Cheshire West and Chester owned land e.g. benches, noticeboards (LAA)
• transferring objects on Cheshire West and Chester owned land (LAA)

it must be constituted, have a bank account and public liability Insurance.
