Local community and charitable organisations have been allocated funding to help support people in need. This funding will be provided for 1 April 2026 to 30 September 2026 before funding provided to local organisations will be reviewed.

Cost of living help for carers

Carers can apply to the Cheshire and Warrington Carers Trust for Crisis and Resilience Fund grants to fund essential items and costs. For further information or to apply you can contact Cheshire and Warrington Carers Trust:

Citizens Advice Cheshire West 

Citizens Advice Cheshire West (CACW) provides help and advice to residents who are struggling to pay for energy. Through an ‘Advice First’ approach, CACW can support those most in need with energy payments, financial shocks, and other essential household costs. 

To be eligible for help, you must be a resident of Cheshire West and Chester and be experiencing:
• a sudden loss of income or reduced working hours
• an unexpected essential bill or cost
• a delay or change to your benefits
• sudden illness, caring responsibilities, or a family emergency
• urgent housing problems that put pressure on your finances
• domestic violence situation

Dial West Cheshire

Dial West Cheshire is supporting Cheshire West and Chester Council to distribute the Crisis and Resilience Fund by providing essential support to the area’s most vulnerable, disabled residents.

Individuals and organisations can make a referral to Dial West Cheshire for consideration under the Crisis and Resilience Fund by completing the Referral form.

Age UK Cheshire

Cheshire West Voluntary Action

Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA) will be providing grants to community and voluntary sector groups in order to support vulnerable people in communities across the borough.

Local community and voluntary sector groups have been allocated funding to help support people in need of food, fuel or other essential living costs.
