Early years and childcare

Funded childcare is available for working foster carers from the term after their child turns nine months old right up to when the child starts school.

This could mean up to 15 or 30-hours per week of funded childcare for your child if this supports your child’s Care Plan.

To be eligible foster carers need to be in paid work outside their role as a foster parent.
