Charges for care and support

Overview

Different services costs us different amounts depending on the cost of providing them. Adult Social Care services are chargeable - if care and support services were not strictly means-tested, there would not be enough money to fund the services required by all those who need them.

Following a care needs assessment, you may begin to receive care and support services that have been arranged by us. Although Adult Social Care (ASC) is a chargeable service, you may be eligible for some financial assistance from us which will be determined through a financial assessment means test.

You cannot be charged more for social care and support services than is costs us to provide and manage those services for you.

To help give you an indication about whether you will be eligible for financial assistance, you can use our Online Financial Assessment calculator.
