The role of Public Health is to improve and protect the health of local residents by reducing health inequalities to help people to Start Well, Live Well, and Age Well.

We also carry out a range of Research and Intelligence activities to ensure interventions and services reflect the priorities and needs of our residents and identifies gaps in service delivery by examining data from partner organisations and the community. From this the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is created which presents information about the current and future health and wellbeing needs of the population.
