New pedestrian crossing schemes 2026-27
This financial year’s new pedestrian crossing schemes funded by our Local Safety Scheme budget include: Mill Lane, A56 Hoole Road and Rossmore Road.

Nicholas Street Viaduct Inspection
A detailed inspection is continuing underneath the Nicholas Street Viaduct - 10 railway closures will be needed from 17 January 2026.
Winsford Station Bridge investigation
Investigation works are due to begin in July 2026. The next phase of work will take place on the top of the bridge (road level) and will require a lane closure and diversion to allow for the works.
