The Council wishes to encourage the owners of empty properties to bring them back into use to meet housing demand. We can offer financial assistance to help with the costs of refurbishment. Grants and loans are available for bringing empty homes back into use and for the conversion of obsolete commercial premises to provide much needed residential property.

Empty homes matching service
Landlords can play an important role in bringing empty homes back into use. For those landlords who are accredited with the Cheshire Landlord Accreditation Scheme, there is the opportunity to become part of the Empty homes matching service.
The Empty Homes Matching Service matches and brings together those empty home owners who wish to sell their empty home with an accredited landlord or registered letting agent who wish to purchase an empty home and bring it back into use.
Empty Homes Buy and Sell Service
The Buy and Sell Service brings together those empty home owners who wish to sell their empty home with property developers who wish to buy the home to refurbish and sell the property on the open market.
