Gypsies and Travellers

Below is a list of unauthorised encampments in the Cheshire and Warrington area. These are shown by Council area.

Each unauthorised encampment is given a name based on where it was first reported. The exact location of the encampment may be somewhere nearby. Similarly, there may be a slightly different number of caravans reported when the group first arrive. There is a procedure for dealing with encampments and the information is updated as this progresses. If you have checked the list below and want to tell us about a new encampment, please use our reporting form.

Warrington

DFS, Vernon Street

• Current Status: Police to attend

Cheshire West and Chester

The Groves Sports and Social Club

• Arrived: 5 August 2025
• Current Status: Landowner responsible to move the group on
• Notes: Privately-owned land; 18 caravans
• Information Updated: 7 August 2025, 12.30am

Field off New Grosvenor Road, Ellesmere Port

• Arrived: 28 July 2025
• Current Status:  The group have now left the location
• Notes: Council-owned land; 22 caravans
• Information Updated: 7 August 2025, 12.30am

Oil Sites Road, Ellesmere Port
