Gypsies and Travellers

Below is a list of unauthorised encampments in the Cheshire and Warrington area. These are shown by Council area.

Each unauthorised encampment is given a name based on where it was first reported. The exact location of the encampment may be somewhere nearby. Similarly, there may be a slightly different number of caravans reported when the group first arrive. There is a procedure for dealing with encampments and the information is updated as this progresses. If you have checked the list below and want to tell us about a new encampment, please use our reporting form.

Cheshire West and Chester

• Morrisons store car park, Greenalls avenue, Latchford, Warrington

• Arrived 26 January 2026
• Current Status: Group has left the location.
• Notes: Privately-owned land

• Land at the rear of Rigger public house, Ince lane, Elton, Chester

  • Current Status: Land ownership to be discovered.
  • Notes: Unknown ownership, believed to be private land.

Oil Sites Road, Ellesmere Port
