Below is a list of unauthorised encampments in the Cheshire and Warrington area. These are shown by Council area.

Each unauthorised encampment is given a name based on where it was first reported. The exact location of the encampment may be somewhere nearby. Similarly, there may be a slightly different number of caravans reported when the group first arrive. There is a procedure for dealing with encampments and the information is updated as this progresses. If you have checked the list below and want to tell us about a new encampment, please use our reporting form.

Warrington

Matalan, Winwick Road

• Current Status: Landowner to move the group on
• Notes: Privately-owned land; 5 caravans

Cheshire West and Chester

Westminster Car Park, Ellesmere Port

• Arrived: 29 May 2025
• Current Status: Abandoned caravan - the correct department has been advised
• Notes: Council-owned land; 2 caravans
• Information Updated: 9 June 2025, 10.30am

Graham Road Playing Field, Chester

• Arrived: 31 May 2025
• Current Status: The group have now left the location
• Notes: Council-owned land; 7 caravans
• Information Updated: 9 June 2025, 10.30am

Oil Sites Road, Ellesmere Port
