Ellesmere Port Market consists of 157 individual shops and stalls offering an eclectic mixture of trades, catering for all tastes and needs - all in a modern, bright building refurbished in 2006.

Among the many trades you will find hardware, garden, tailoring, footwear, fashion, health and beauty, electrical supplies, beautiful handcrafted jewellery and pet supplies to name only a few. In addition to all of this there is also a vast array of tasty foods.

Opening hours

Ellesmere Port market is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 8am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm (closed Wednesdays).

The market is also open on Bank Holidays but operates Sunday trading hours 10 am - 4pm, with the Flea market open 8am - 2pm.

In the centre of the Market Hall lies the modern and spacious food court which seats up to 100 people.

Ellesmere Port Market HallAdjoining the main market is the indoor Flea Market area, this area usually consists of about 38 traders dealing in all manner of second hand treasures, it is open every Thursday and Monday and on Sundays you get the best of both worlds with the ‘Mixed Market’ where traders sell both old and new.  

Facilities and parking

The Market Hall has excellent facilities including public toilets with disabled facilities, central heating, eight entrances and is covered by a modern CCTV system. 

A large public car park with the ability to hold up to 1000 vehicles stands conveniently right outside the market and there is also a long stay car park adjacent to the council offices just yards away, making for a relaxed and stress-free shopping experience.

  • Dogs are not permitted in the Market with the exception of guide dogs.
  • Cycles must be parked in the cycle racks provided outside of the Market.
