Permitted development
You can perform certain types of work without needing to apply for planning permission. These are called permitted development rights. Some work does not require planning permission. Guidance on rules that relate to permitted development can be found on the Planning Portal website.
If your plans do not fall under permitted development you will need to find out more about what permissions, consents and approvals you need.
