Acorn is a segmentation tool which categorises the UK's postcodes into demographic groups according to multiple factors including lifestyle, life stage and affluence.

The Acorn 2024 report paints a picture of the Acorn groups across the borough and includes insight from Acorn on wellbeing and communication preferences.

The Acorn profiles set out the number and proportion of population in each Acorn group for the Borough, wards and community partnerships. The Borough profile includes a UK comparison, and the ward and community partnership profiles include a Borough comparison.

Put simply, it shows where the ward or community partnerships is over or under-represented by particular groups compared to Cheshire West and Chester as a whole. Acorn wellbeing profiles are also available which look at the health and wellbeing of households in each Acorn group.
