Business Improvements District
Why have I received a bill?
You have received a BID bill because your business property is located within one of our Business Improvement District areas. We collect the BID levy on behalf of the relevant BID organisation.
The levy is separate from Business Rates and is payable in addition to your Business Rates bill.
Check if your property is in a BID area
We are responsible for billing and collecting BID levies on behalf of the BID organisations.
The levy income is then passed to the relevant BID organisation to deliver the projects and services agreed within the BID Business Plan.
We currently collects BID levies for the following Business Improvement Districts:
- Chester Business Improvement District
- West Chester Business Improvement District
- Gadbrook Business Improvement District
- Winsford Business Improvement District
- Northwich Business Improvement District
If you are unsure whether your property is located within one of these BID areas, please contact the Business Rates Team.
What does my BID fund?
Your BID levy helps fund projects and services agreed by businesses within your BID area.
These may include:
- promoting the area
- supporting businesses
- improving the local area
- projects differ between BID areas
For information about how your levy is spent, more information will be available on your local BID website.
Who decides how the money is spent?
The BID organisation decides how levy income is spent in accordance with its approved Business Plan.
