6.10.1 Fascia boards
Fascia must be capped by a cornice which must include drip detailing to avoid rainwater damage and unsightly streaking over time.
Visual clutter and writing, except for the shop name and building number, should be avoided.
Where a shop occupies several adjacent shop units, each unit should have a separate fascia, linked visually by a common design. One continuous fascia is considered to be too dominant and should not be used.
Fascia should be made from a durable material and should avoid plastic finishing.
Visual clutter and writing, except for the shop name and building number, should be avoided.
Lettering on the fascia board should be centred.
The type of lettering used on shopfront signs should be easily legible but within proportion of the fascia.
