Pitched roofs must be one of the following materials:

• Slate (natural or imitation) - flat to match traditional roofing in the local area.
• Clay tiles (natural or imitation) - flat to match traditional roofing in the local area.
• Metal (e.g. zinc, corrugated steel)

Where imitation materials are used, these must be nearly indistinguishable from natural materials. They must be of a single tone across the development.

Acceptable imitation stone slates are usually manufactured from concrete reinforced with fibreglass. Acceptable imitation slate is manufactured from fibre cement or reconstituted stone.
