Your responsibilities as a tenant

Caring for your home

You need to:

  • understand your tenancy agreements and your responsibilities/rights as a tenant
  • give four weeks' notice when you want to end your tenancy
  • pay your rent on time - if you are struggling, please get in touch with us
  • tell us if you will be leaving your home for a long period of time, for example, because you need to go to the hospital, or are going into respite care
  • ensure that you are reporting repairs, including damp and mould
  • allow access to your home to undertake relevant safety inspections, including electricity tests and annual gas safety checks
  • keep your home in good order, including the garden and communal areas
  • ask us if you want to make alterations to your home
  • insure the contents of your home in case of any accidents, damage or theft

Caring for your neighbourhood

You need to:

  • treat your neighbours with respect and do not cause any nuisance or annoyance to other residents
  • be a responsible pet owner and ensure to seek permission to own a pet in the home
  • dispose of your waste and recycling appropriately 
  • report fly tipping to us, if identified
  • report any safety concerns that you may have that could impact you or your neighbours
