Landlord and tenant responsibilities
Our responsibilities as your landlord
We want to ensure our homes and communities are well-maintained, safe, and are great places to live. Below you can find information about both our responsibilities as your landlord as well as your responsibilities as a tenant when it comes to looking after your home, caring for the local area, and staying in touch.
Caring for your home
We will provide you with a safe and well-maintained home by carrying out regular safety checks. More information can be found on our keeping you safe pages.
We will make sure you have an efficient and accessible repairs service when something needs fixing in your home, as well as providing you with advice and support about making improvements to, or adaptations to your home.
We will provide information and support about:
- your right to buy / acquire your home
- the process of a mutual exchange
- wellbeing support, including money advice
We will work with you to investigate and resolve complaints, as well as learn from these to help improve our services.
Caring for your neighbourhood
We will work with you to:
- investigate and resolve noise complaints and anti-social behaviour
- investigate and report fly tipping
- report criminal damage to the Police and remove graffiti
We will ensure that the grass and grounds maintenance is being maintained during the different seasons.
We will also be carrying out neighbourhood and block inspections to ensure that they are safe, clean and well-maintained.
Keeping in touch
We will:
- keep you informed about any repairs or planned maintenance work to your home
- provide you with the opportunities to tell us what you think about our services
- contact you when you are not keeping to your tenancy agreement
- keep you informed about how your rent is being spent each year
