We have a wide range of eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, eNewspapers and eResources free of charge.

Our libraries are now fine-free for children aged 0 to 12 years so they will no longer be charged for any overdue items. Any pre-existing late charges have been removed from their accounts.

Resident Assistance Point

This building is equipped with technology to enable customers to access Council services. Staff are also on hand to provide guidance and advice.

Home Library Service

The Home Library Service provides library books and talking books directly to the homes of readers who are unable to collect their own items from a library. If you would like to use the Home Library Service, please ask a member of staff.

We’re always looking for new volunteers and there are a number of ways to help, from selecting items for customers, to driving and dropping off items at customers’ homes. Applications can be made via our Volunteering page. 

Regular activities

Monday

  • U3A Members Play Reading Group: 2pm - 4pm, first and third Monday of the month.

Tuesday

  • Smoking cessation with Cheshire Change Hub: 9am—3pm, weekly. 12 week programme starting 3 October. Resources and support to help   you stop smoking. To access the scheme go to cheshirechangehub.org or call 0300 777 0033
  • Digital device sessions: 10am - 11am, weekly. Booking is advised. Basic help with your digital devices, from tablets to smartphones.
  • Winter warmers: 10.30am - 11.30am, weekly. Join us to knit or crochet squares for blankets, hats or scarves. Materials provided. Part of the warm, welcoming spaces initiative.
  • Stories and rhymes for under 5s: 2pm – 2.30pm, weekly. Sing along to your favourite rhymes, listen to some great stories and make new friends. 

Wednesday

  • Diabetic eye clinic: every other Wednesday. By referral only. Letter sent to patient by practitioner.
  • VIP social group: 10.30am - 12pm, second Wednesday of the month. Social group for visually impaired people, offering advice and support in a welcoming environment.

Thursday

  • Multiply (Weaver Vale Housing Trust): 10am—1pm, weekly. Support for adults (19+ years), to build confidence with numbers and get help with everyday life. Sessions include – creating a household budget; cooking on a budget; energy advice; saving wisely and days out on budget.   • Stories and rhymes for under 5s: 2pm – 2.30pm, weekly. Sing along to your favourite rhymes, listen to some great stories and make new friends. 
  • The book group that shall not be named: 4.30pm - 5.30pm, meet fortnightly. Private book group for 13+ years. Please ask a member of staff for more details.

Friday

  • Employment Directions (IPSPC): 10am - 12pm, last Friday of the month. Have you been receiving primary health care support? Are you seeking help with employment? Get advice and support from an Employment Support Officer. Drop in.
  • Ward councillor surgery: 4pm  - 6pm, last Friday of the month. Come and speak to your local councillor about concerns and issues. Suspended during Pre-Election Period (18 March - 2 May)

Saturday

  • Lego club: 10.30am - 12pm, weekly. Come and be creative (term time only).

Where is the library? How do I get there?

Directions
From the traffic lights in Main Street with the Bears Paw on your right, continue along Main Street for approximately 350 yards. Then turn left into Fountains Lane signposted for Health and Leisure Centres. Follow the road and take the first left into Princeway, the library entrance is first left on the bend.

Shared with the Medical Centre and Brio Leisure Centre.

Disabled Parking
There are seven spaces and a drop off point.
