Types of waste not accepted at any HWRC

HWRCs will no longer accept asbestos from 1st April 2017

Processing asbestos is specialist in nature and dealing with such a dangerous material at a public facility is difficult and expensive.

Before starting any works where asbestos may be present, residents are advised to consult local business directories to find companies licensed to dispose of asbestos waste. Useful information and licensed contractors can be found at:

(To search for a Cheshire-based company, use CHES in the county search – not Cheshire.)

Why do I need a permit to use Neston HWRC?

This HWRC is near the border with another council, but only accepts household waste from Cheshire West and Chester residents. You will need a residents permit to use this site. These are issued free of charge to Cheshire West and Chester Residents only.

Commercial and Trade waste

Commercial or trade waste cannot legally be accepted at any HWRC. However, Chester will begin recycling trade waste from winter 2017.

Find smaller, local recycling points
