Member budgets

Overview

Every year, each local councillor has £5,000 available to support meaningful projects that make a real difference in their community.

These Member Budgets exist to help councillors - your elected representatives, champion local ideas, strengthen neighbourhoods, and improve the wellbeing of the people who live and work here.

Applications close on 31 December 2026 and projects need to be delivered by 31 March 2027.

Member Budget Award Scheme

The Member Budget Award Scheme is designed to give a boost to the fantastic small and medium‑sized community projects happening across our borough. Whether it’s a local event, a neighbourhood improvement, or a project that brings people together, this funding helps turn great ideas into positive action.

Councillors can award funding to initiatives that support the priorities identified in their Ward Plans, ensuring money goes where it can have the most impact. Awards are discretionary and flexible, making it easier for local groups and residents to get the support they need.

Each council member has £5,000 to allocate in 2026–27—and your project could be one of the next to benefit.
