Sandy Lane car park and slipways

Sandy Lane car park and slipway, Chester, is open to the public.

All river users must comply with the byelaws and River Dee Courtesy Code and adhere to the 6mph speed limit.

The Sandy Lane ferry will restart on Saturday 24 July. In line with guidance issued by our Director of Public Health and because of increasing cases of the Delta variant passengers are advised to wear a face covering whilst using the ferry.

The ferry will not run at full capacity to give more space (where necessary) to each passenger. Please be patient as you may have to wait longer for your journey, short delays are necessary so that we can undertake regular cleaning and will result from the need to carry fewer passengers on each trip. These measures are to protect both yourself and the ferry operator.
