Disabilities employment support

Work Choice

Cheshire West and Chester Council works in partnership with Shaw Trust, a national voluntary sector organisation, delivering the Work Choice programme for the residents of Cheshire West and Chester.

Work Choice is a voluntary, Government supported employment programme designed specifically for people who, due to their disability/health condition, may find it difficult to find employment for 16 hours plus per week.

As well as offering you the support, information and training you need to get a job, we will provide you with help once you are there.

Employment support

This one to one support service is provided by Employment Support Officers who specialise in assisting residents who have a disability/health condition in accessing the services, support groups and access to funding that can aid residents into work, and help to maintain and sustain employment.

This service is based within the Work Zones, where clients will be supported with their job searching activities, interview support and access to courses.

  • Work Zones (Chester, Ellesmere Port, Winsford and Northwich)
