Connect To Work
If you have a disability, long-term health condition or complex non-health barrier which has made getting into and staying in employment difficult, Connect to Work could help you.
Connect To Work provides intensive employment support for up to 12 months: identifying what work might be suitable for you, speaking to potential employers and finding appropriate vacancies. Depending on your needs we can support you in work once you find a job and ensure your employer helps you stay in work.
Connect To Work is also available if you are already in work or self-employed and at risk of falling out of work. Support for working people lasts up to 4 months.
Am I eligible?
You must be over 18 and entitled to live and work in the UK.
You do not need to be on any type of benefit and it's completely voluntary.
You must be motivated to work.
What are complex non-health barriers?
As well as those with health conditions, Connect To Work helps those with other complex circumstances. If any of the following describe you, we can support you.
- Carer or former carer
- Homeless
- Former member of HM Armed Forces, a member of HMAF reserves or a partner of current of former member or HMAF
- Drug or alcohol dependency, including a history of dependency which presents a significant barrier
- Care-experienced young person or a care leaver
- Victim or survivor of domestic abuse
- Young person identified as being involved or at risk of being involved in serious violence
- Offender (someone who is serving community service) or ex-offender (someone who has completed a custodial or community sentence)
- Refugee, a resettled Afghan or on the Ukrainian scheme
- Victim of modern slavery
