Help with adaptations and repairs
Relocations Grant and Urgent Works Grant
Relocation Grant
A Relocation Grant is available to help homeowners with the cost of moving house, if it is too complex or costly to adapt their current home, and moving to a more suitable property is deemed to be the best option.
The new property must be approved by an Occupational Therapist as being able to meet the long-term needs of the disabled person.
The Relocation Grant is means-tested and has a maximum of £5,000. It can fund moving costs such as estate agent fees, legal costs, surveys and removal company costs.
Urgent Works Grant
An Urgent Works Grant is available for disabled adaptations up to £10,000, where the need for an adaptation is urgent and to minimise high risk to the disabled person and their carers.
Urgent Works Grants are not means tested, and the Occupational Therapist must make the referral.
