Road closures and parking restrictions
If your event requires roads to be closed, speed limit changes or parking restrictions, the events team can arrange for a temporary traffic regulation order (TTRO) for you.
For community and charity event organisers, the highways fees are currently waived, but please note that the cost of contracting the traffic management company will apply.
In some cases, your TTRO could require additional approval, which can take eight weeks to receive. If your event is subject to road closure or temporary restriction fees, you can view the fee costs and apply to make an application where payment will be required. More information can be found on our temporary road closures page.
You are not permitted to close any public roads, paths or footways without legal permissions and approval from Cheshire West and Chester Council.
Parking dispensations
If you require vehicles to park at your event, the council will allow vehicles to park with a dispensation permit in locations where otherwise they would be in contravention of parking restrictions.
Details on how to apply for a parking dispensation permit can be found on our dispensation permits page.
