A Design Code sets out exactly what is expected of developers in a clear and visual manner. Our code has been produced in consultation with residents to ensure development respects the area’s unique heritage, landscapes and character. It raises the bar for new development, encourages development that meets local preferences and underpins our ambition to champion the good design of both new and existing places. We want growth and new homes that make our neighbourhoods better and helps us all to tread more lightly upon the planet. This leads to the creation of more beautiful and sustainable places within our communities.
