Ready, steady and independent
New classes for Winsford’s older residents are improving core strength
As we age, we lose muscle strength in our legs and our bodies naturally become weaker. One of the biggest dangers when this happens is falling and picking up painful and often damaging injuries.
The Council is helping older people to stay on their feet and continue to be mobile so they are able to live independent and fulfilling lives.
Working with our partner, Brio Leisure, we are running strength and balance sessions to help people improve the core strength they need to stay steady on their feet.
The free sessions run every week at Wharton Library in Winsford. For more information, visit:
To access this service, residents need to be referred by their GP.
