Housing strategy/prospectus
Our aims
The Specialist Housing Prospectus aims to support the delivery of our Adult Social Care Strategy 2024-2028 which aims to enable people to live a great life and support our communities to thrive and our Housing Strategy 2025-2035 which includes a strategic aim to develop specialist housing for older people, children and those with care needs.
Specifically, we aim to:
- Create more capacity: Develop sufficient affordable supported living options in Cheshire West and Chester so that more people can live in their community and to reduce reliance on out-of-borough placements.
- Improve quality of life: Enhance support services and high-quality housing to enable people to live better lives.
- Efficient housing pipeline: Forecast reliably and ensure robust commissioning plans over the short, medium and long term.
- Shape the market: Collaborate with providers for a diverse range of accommodation options.
- Expand independent living: Increase opportunities for individuals to live independently with appropriate support.
- Ensure compliance and quality assurance: Adhere to the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act 2023and maintain high standards.
- Be sustainable and adaptable: Adapt accommodation solutions to meet changing needs as people grow older.
- Be open to innovation: Encourage innovation and creative solutions through collaboration.
