6.7 Building details

MUST

Homes must include one or more of the following features:

  • Roughcast rendered first floors (and upwards) with contrasting brick dressing
  • Brick diapering patterns (either projecting or in burnt headers)
  • Patterns of contrasting brick or burnt headers
  • Black and white timber frame gables
  • In Neston and Parkgate only, black painted window surrounds or quoins.
SHOULD

Eaves on traditionally styled homes should have corbelled brick, stone detailing, render detailing, exposed rafters or soffit boards and project no more than 225mm.

MUST

External glass balustrades must not be used.

COULD

Brick buildings could include banding, dogtooth or dentil courses, string courses or contrasting texture feature bricks, in matching or contrasting brick colours.

SHOULD

Rainwater goods (gutters, down pipes, etc) should be metal.

MUST

Interlocking dry verge systems and box verges must not be used.
